Perhaps this applies to ideology too. I may been born in fundamentalism, learn lots from the evangelicals, and now dwelling with in the tents of the emergent movement, but none of these is my home. I'm searching for a better land.... Yeah the imagery is sort of hackneyed or cliched, but the underlying theme--the enduring restlessness, middle-eastern hospitality, loyalty to a high vision, and a commitment see it through--is still very much a part of who I am. If I can communicate that, then I'm not sure I much care how people want to label it. If only communicating it were easier....
